The Guardia Civil has arrested six women for thefts committed in commercial establishments in Llucmajor.
In a press release, the Guardia Civil reported that, after receiving four reports of theft in commercial establishments in Llucmajor — two supermarkets, a perfumery, and a pharmacy — where objects worth 2,800 euros were stolen, local Guardia Civil officers initiated an investigation to clarify the facts.
During the investigation, the agents verified the connection between four of the detainees, who in an organized manner — while some distracted the shop assistants, others committed the thefts — accessed the establishments and stole valuable items, mainly cosmetic products.
As a result of the inquiries, the investigators were able to locate and arrest them as alleged authors of a continuous theft offense and membership in a criminal group.
Additionally, during the same period, the agents received a fifth report of theft of items valued at 870 euros, committed by two other women in the same perfumery with the same ‘modus operandi’, who were identified and arrested once located.
The investigation continues to focus on determining if the six detainees could be part of the same criminal group, with the possibility of further arrests.
