El Espai Cor will host the exhibition ‘Homes, llebres i cantets d’alegria’ throughout the entire summer, a joint collaboration between artists Amador and Julio Varela.
The exhibition, curated by the first deputy mayor and councilor of Culture, Javier Bonet, will be open for visits until September 11th. This marks the third exhibition project organized in the premises of Cort.
Located in Palma, the Espai Cor will showcase the artistic collaboration between Amador from Pollença and Julio Varela from Buenos Aires, Argentina. This initiative is part of the cultural program promoted by the municipal area of Culture at the Ajuntament de Palma.
In recent months, the Espai Cor has successfully presented exhibitions such as ‘Ple al buit’ by Joan Cortés and ‘Profundidad y límite’ by Ñaco Fabré, both receiving significant public attention. The exhibition launch event was attended by the artists, exhibition curator Toni Ferrer, and the general coordinator of Culture and Tourism, Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta.
During the presentation, Councilor Bonet emphasized the unique styles of Amador and Julio Varela, highlighting their shared interest in printmaking techniques and experimentation. He underscored the exhibition’s departure from traditional display methods, leveraging the space’s distinctive features to enhance the viewer experience.
Bonet praised the Espai Cor as a cultural facility that reflects the government’s commitment to making culture accessible to all residents. He emphasized the importance of cultural dynamism and promotion, which have been key priorities for the Council since the beginning of its term.
The Councilor also mentioned the city’s aspiration to become the European Capital of Culture in 2031, expressing optimism about the project’s progress towards realization. He stressed the need for a diverse range of exhibition spaces to accommodate various cultural interpretations and engage audiences of different backgrounds.
In this context, Bonet highlighted the Espai Cor as a valuable addition to Palma’s cultural landscape, providing opportunities for art enthusiasts and the general public to enjoy the innovative works of artists like Amador and Julio Varela, known for their quality, creativity, and originality.
