Apoyo a afectados por desahucios en trasteros de Joan Miró

A group of about thirty people attended the concentration, which was convened by Stop Desahucios Mallorca, this Saturday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m., in Plaza de España in Palma, to support the people living in the storage rooms on Calle Joan Miró who are facing supply cuts and evictions.

In statements, the substitute spokesperson for Stop Desahucios Mallorca, Joan Segura, explained that this first «emergency» concentration is to denounce, above all, the cut in supplies, but also to warn that next Thursday there are planned «between one and two judicial evictions» of families living in the substandard housing rented by a local police officer on Joan Miró.

In addition, Segura announced that a complaint will be filed «imminently,» on behalf of a dozen affected people who have overcome all the fears that affect migrant people who are afraid to report, against the local police officer who rents out the substandard housing and his company for «real estate harassment.»

«This very afternoon, the complaint will be filed in the duty courts,» affirmed the spokesperson, who expressed confidence that this complaint will be «fruitful» and may even result in the urgent return of supplies to the families.
