A new edition of SOIB Reactiva has started at the Ajuntament de Palma, where PalmaActiva will hire 63 people for a period of 9 months. Thanks to this initiative by SOIB, individuals who were unemployed will have the opportunity to work in various areas of the Ajuntament de Palma.
PalmaActiva will be contracting 63 individuals to work at the Ajuntament de Palma through the SOIB Reactiva 2024 program. The main goal is to provide these individuals with professional experience and help them maintain their skills to enhance their employability. The budget for ‘SOIB Reactiva Palma 2024’ is set at a maximum of 1,525,024.02 euros, with 1,199,813.12 euros being subsidized by SOIB and 325,210.9 euros by PalmaActiva. This program is promoted by SOIB and has the co-financing of the European Union (FSE+).
A welcoming event was held at PalmaActiva for 39 out of the 63 individuals who will work at the Ajuntament de Palma for nine months. During the event, Lupe Ferrer, the councilor for Commerce, Restoration, and Self-Employed, along with María Luján Olivera, the coordinator of SOIB, wished the workers a positive experience. The professional profiles of these 39 individuals who started working today are as follows:
– Line 1, aimed at young people under 30 years of age who are unemployed:
• Administrative assistant (7)
• Maintenance worker (8)
– Line 2, aimed at individuals aged 30 or older who are long-term unemployed:
• Telephone operator (5)
• Administrative assistant (5)
• Public area inspector (2)
• Social worker (4)
• IT technician (1)
• Social integrator (1)
• Veterinarian (1)
• Legal professional (2)
• Geographer (1)
• Drafter (1)
• ADE technician (1)
The hired individuals will work in various areas such as the Local Police and the Municipal School Board, among others. They will also collaborate in municipal sports facilities and at the PalmaActiva business center. A second group of 24 workers will cover the remaining positions, starting their contracts on February 26th.
SOIB Reactiva 2024 is a public hiring program that promotes the employment of unemployed youth and individuals over 30 years of age, preferably those facing long-term unemployment, as groups with greater difficulty in labor market integration that have undergone significant transformations.
