The Spanish National Police have dismantled two cannabis associations in Palma that were being used as a front for drug trafficking.
According to a press release from the Police, last Thursday, officers from the National Police arrested four individuals, three men of Italian, Romanian, and Colombian origin respectively, as well as a Colombian woman, as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking for selling marijuana and hashish in establishments that were operating as cannabis associations.
The investigation was initiated by the Narcotics Group II of the UDYCO of the National Police in Palma, following an anonymous complaint linking a cannabis association in Palma where cannabis derivatives were allegedly being sold inside and not operating as a legitimate association within the framework of the law, suggesting it could be a front.
Upon receiving this information, the officers began conducting inquiries to clarify the situation, observing customers leaving the premises with narcotics, specifically hashish and marijuana. It was confirmed that there was another nearby establishment operating in a similar manner. Both locations were very active, selling daily, especially to foreigners.
After various on-site investigations and further inquiries, a search and seizure were requested last Thursday at the two associations located in the West district of Palma.
In one of the establishments, over seven kilograms of marijuana, nearly a kilogram of hashish, 11 ‘joints’, and cash were seized. In the other location, cash, over 190 grams of marijuana, nearly 100 grams of hashish, and hashish oil were found. In the latter establishment, three minors were found among the customers and were handed over to their parents.
Following these events, four individuals associated with the two establishments were finally arrested as suspected drug traffickers.
