The Guardia Civil has detained a man as the alleged perpetrator of two burglaries and two attempted burglaries in the town of Sant Antoni, in Ibiza.
In a press release, the Guardia Civil reported that after receiving several reports of burglaries in hotels and small businesses, they began a thorough investigation.
The first of the burglaries dates back to last July, when the civil guards began to suspect that the perpetrator could be a man of Maghrebi origin living on the island. It was last February when the security cameras of an abandoned hotel were able to properly identify the suspect, who had entered this abandoned property without permission.
After continuing with the investigation, the agents were able to confirm that the suspect was the perpetrator of four burglaries, two of them attempted.
The modus operandi of the now detained individual was always the same and involved gaining access to the interior of the establishments by climbing a wall or fence, or by breaking windows and doors. Once inside, he would steal various electronic devices, such as tablets or mobile phones, as well as cash.
As a result of all the above, the individual was arrested last Thursday and presented before the competent Judicial Authority.
