Miracle de Ladil and Jaume Fluxà achieved victory in the 67th edition of the Gran Premio de Manacor this Sunday.
In a press release, the Consell de Mallorca reported that Miracle De Ladil and Jaume Fluxà secured victory in the 67th edition of the Gran Premio de Manacor, which took place today at the Hipódromo de Manacor, the birthplace of trotting in Mallorca. The stands of the venue were filled with fans who were able to enjoy a race that generated great excitement.
The Gran Premio de Manacor witnessed a thrilling race marked by a comeback that will go down in the history of this competition. Number 2, Matador, started strongly and led the race with authority from the beginning, maintaining the lead throughout the course. It seemed to have victory in the bag, but the surprise came in the final stretch. Number 8, Miracle de Ladil, ridden by Jaume Fluxà, who had been trailing in the last positions almost the entire race, staged an impressive comeback. With a dazzling final acceleration, it passed all the rivals and crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 1’17″90, leaving the audience in awe and shaking up all the bets. A victory as unexpected as it was deserved, confirming once again that in the Gran Premio de Manacor, nothing is certain until the last meter.
In second place came Matador and G. Andreu, with a time of 1’17″9, and completing the podium was Mistica Cege, driven by J. Bennàssar, with a time of 1’18″0.
The president of the Consell, Llorenç Galmés, presented the trophy to the owner of the winning horse, and the second vice president and island councillor for Environment, Rural Development, and Sports, Pedro Bestard, presented it to the horse’s ‘menador’.
After congratulating the race winner and the other participants, President Llorenç Galmés pointed out that the Gran Premio de Manacor «is not only a top-level sports competition, but also a celebration of our own culture and identity.» «The Hipódromo de Manacor is a living history of trotting and every year proves to be an exceptional venue, with passionate audiences, giving meaning to this unique event.»
«With the celebration of the Gran Premio de Manacor,» added Galmés, «we once again pay tribute to our identity and to the entire sector that, with dedication and appreciation, make it possible for trotting to continue thriving on our island.»
On the other hand, the second vice president and island councillor for Environment, Rural Development, and Sports, Pedro Bestard, highlighted that «the Hipódromo de Manacor is a cradle of trotting in the Llevant of Mallorca,» and thanked all the fans for their dedication and love for trotting, a fact that, he said, «allows this sport so dear to us to endure over time and be a source of pride for all Mallorcans.»
The race day also saw the presence of the mayor of Manacor, Miquel Oliver, who was responsible for placing the blanket on the horse; the president of the Institut de l’Esport Hípic de Mallorca (IEHM), Gaspar Oliver; and the president of the Federació Balear de Trot, Juan Antonio Rosselló, who placed the laurel wreath on the winning horse.
The Gran Premio de Manacor 2025 was endowed with a total of 18,000 euros in various prizes, solidifying its status as one of the most esteemed events on the Balearic equestrian calendar.
HORSE RACING FESTIVITIES IN LLEVANT
This weekend witnessed two intense days of trotting at the Hipódromo de Manacor, one of the most anticipated and significant trotting events in Mallorca and one of the competitions with the richest history in the Balearic Islands.
The morning session of this Sunday trotting event began with the celebration of the Gran Premio Infantil Manacor 2025, which was won by Juana De Font and Simó Morro this year. Following that, five more races were held in a family-friendly and festive atmosphere.
In the afternoon, races started at 4:30 pm, with various competitions preceding the weekend’s main event. Just minutes before 7:00 pm, the best three-year-old horses entered the track to compete for the coveted trophy of the Gran Premio de Manacor 2025. Ultimately, eight young horses participated, after two of the top favorites withdrew from the race. The ‘M’ generation experienced a colorful prelude, accompanied, as is tradition, by music and excitement.
On Saturday, June 14, the Gran Premio Minitrot Manacor 2025 was held, won by Il·lusió RV, ridden by Amalia Riera. This was followed by ten more races, with two particularly notable contests. One of the most coveted trophies was the Premio Artà, won by the duo Manila West and M. Mestre, who covered the 2,375 meters in a time of 1’20″0. As for the Premio Felanitx, the winner was Dioricimo D’Eva, once again ridden by M. Mestre, with a time of 1’17″8.
