A 34-year-old Dutch man has died on Thursday after suffering from heatstroke on the Camí de Son Sales, in the municipality of Sóller.
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. when the emergency services (112) received a call reporting that a person was showing symptoms consistent with heatstroke.
In a statement, the SAMU 061 reported that they activated the emergency services and dispatched two Advanced Life Support ambulances, a doctor from Sóller due to the proximity to the incident, a logistical support vehicle, and the firefighters.
Upon arrival at the scene, they found the man unconscious and in critical condition. Despite attempts at resuscitation, they were unsuccessful, leading to a «high suspicion» that the cause of death was heatstroke.
