The Palma Local Police have arrested a 48-year-old Spanish woman as the alleged perpetrator of a breach of a restraining order and a minor assault without injury, for assaulting another person from whom she had a restraining order, in Palma.
According to a press release, the incident took place on Thursday, June 12, at 13:45 in Plaza Nova de la Ferreria.
The police intervention began after a citizen reported an assault she had just suffered by another woman present at the scene.
The victim stated that she had a restraining order and a communication ban in her favor against the person in question. According to her statement, the alleged aggressor approached her, reprimanded her for being present at the location, and slapped her, causing no visible injuries. A witness who intervened to separate both parties confirmed the victim’s account.
During the operation, the officers verified the existence of a restraining order and communication ban issued by a Palma court, which prohibits the alleged aggressor from approaching the victim within 500 meters or communicating with her through any means.
The arrested woman, a 48-year-old Spanish national, claimed that it was the other woman who had the restraining order, not her. This claim was contradicted by the officers who had already checked the computer records.
The injuries suffered by the victim were not serious, and she did not require medical attention.
Following the proceedings carried out by the Attestation Department, the arrested woman was transferred to the National Police.
