More than 800 students from Aina Moll i Marquès school participate in the waste management training day organized as part of the ‘Emaya a l’escola’ program.


Coordinating with the celebration of World Environment Day, the deputy mayor and president of the municipal company, Llorenç Bauzá de Keizer, visited the workshops and activities held at Plaza Berenguer de Palou.
Palma, June 5, 2025. Plaza Berenguer de Palou hosted one of the activities organized by the Ajuntament de Palma on Thursday, coinciding with World Environment Day. Over 800 students from Aina Moll i Marquès school, ranging from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade, participated in the educational program ‘Emaya a l’escola’.
The deputy mayor and president of the municipal company, Llorenç Bauzá de Keizer, was present at the event, aimed at educating children on waste reuse and recycling, and promoting greater awareness of the need to care for the environment.
Students engaged in various educational activities, such as robotics and crafts workshops, as well as the ‘Preu cívic’ activity, which aims to explain the economic cost of vandalistic actions, including graffiti, damage to urban furniture, and littering in public spaces.
In addition, there was a children’s entertainment performance by Tomeu Granera and Joanet Recicles. Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, ‘Emaya a l’escola’ included over 900 informative, entertaining, and participatory sessions, involving more than 30,000 students from 103 educational centers.
The celebration of World Environment Day led to the organization of other activities by the Medi Natural i Entorns Saludables department. Today, the Aula del Mar hosted an open house event, and on Saturday, June 7, there will be a cleaning activity with volunteers at the Es Carnatge natural space.
Similarly, Can Pere Antoni beach featured environmental talks, with the last one scheduled for this Friday. The program will culminate on June 14 with a waste collection at Platja de Palma, called Alerta ECO, in collaboration with the Fundación ATRES Media.
