¿Proviene de mensajes de WhatsApp de Sánchez?

The conseller highlights his commitment to public transportation and emphasizes that "safety is paramount" even if some passengers are unable to board.

The Conseller of Housing, Territory, and Mobility, José Luís Mateo, reprimanded PSIB deputy Carol Marqués for referencing rental price increase data without citing the source, sarcastically asking, "Do they come from direct WhatsApp messages from Sánchez?"

Mateo made these remarks during Tuesday’s plenary session at the Parliament, alluding to WhatsApp messages exchanged between the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and former Secretary of Organization of the PSOE and Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, unveiled by ‘El Mundo.’

"The one punishing the citizens of the Balearic Islands is Sánchez with the housing law," criticized the Conseller, reiterating that, in his opinion, housing policies implemented in Catalonia, such as declaring Barcelona a tension zone, "have failed."

On the other hand, Marqués accused the Government of "punishing citizens with excessive rents" due to the Government’s outright denial to declare the Islands as a tension zone.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Regarding mobility on the roads, the Conseller stated that the Government is committed to public transportation and stressed that "if a passenger must remain on the ground for safety reasons, they will continue to stay grounded because safety comes first."

Mateo expressed this after being questioned by socialist Ares Fernández, who criticized the Government for not taking sufficient measures to address the traffic congestion on roads and public transportation, highlighting that many residents are unable to board TIB buses because they are full.

The Conseller assured that his department "continues to work to find a solution to a longstanding problem," reproaching PSIB for the years of suffering from this congestion in the Balearic Islands and pointing out that the Government is taking "bold measures" that the socialists "failed to adopt."

He reiterated the Government’s commitment to public transportation, emphasizing the improvement in bus and train frequencies and schedules, and urged PSIB not to deceive the public.

"They still have time to help, collaborate with Minister Puente, who shamefully refuses to meet with councilors," he concluded.

Fernández noted that TIB bus lines are overwhelmed, with people left behind daily. "As we approach the high season, mobility is unsustainable, with daily traffic jams, overcrowded buses, and TIB lines receiving numerous complaints," he criticized.
