Rescatados en helicóptero siete migrantes al suroeste de Cabrera

Salvamento Marítimo has rescued by helicopter seven Maghrebi people who required medical assistance, one due to illness and the other six with symptoms of dehydration, who were located on a boat 24 miles southwest of Cabrera where eleven other people were traveling.

The rescue of these seven individuals took place at 20:50 on Saturday and they were transferred to Son Sant Joan Airport in Palma de Mallorca. The intervention also involved the Fiscal and Borders Unit of Palma Airport.

Just a few hours later, a Salvamento Marítimo boat rescued the other eleven occupants, also of Maghrebi origin, at 22:28 on Saturday, as reported by the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands.

Throughout Saturday, two other rescues of migrant individuals in the Balearic Islands took place. The first intervention was at 8:43 in Cabrera after the arrival of 26 Sub-Saharan migrants on a dinghy, and another 22 were rescued from a boat 86 miles south of Mallorca at 16:42.
