The eviction of the illegal settlement of Can Rova 2 is progressing «peacefully and orderly» by the few occupants who remained at the site.
During a press conference, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Carlos Roselló, explained that the «peaceful» operation began at 09:00 as there were «practically no people left.»
Initially, the technical services verified that there were no electrical installations that could pose a risk, also identifying unmarked septic tanks to prevent hazards.
The Councilor noted that, according to Social Services, no occupant requested on-site assistance during the operation, although some individuals later visited the municipal offices of Puig d’en Valls, which will be reinforced to provide proper assistance.
Roselló highlighted that around 40 members of the Civil Guard’s Reserve and Security Group from Valencia are participating in the operation, along with Seprona agents, 15 Local Police officers, and personnel from Social Welfare and contracted companies to remove accumulated waste, among others.
«Everything is going as planned,» he said.
Vehicles found at the site were also identified to verify their status, confirming that there were no animals present.
Subsequently, the substandard housing units began to be demolished. «Most likely, everything will be dismantled by the end of today, but removing the debris will take several days as it must be done properly,» the councilor stated.
