Palma, July 14, 2025. The interventions conducted by Ajuntament de Palma, through the municipal company Emaya, to remove graffiti in public spaces, urban furniture, and public and private facades show a clear upward trend.

In the first half of this year, the number of graffiti removed by Emaya’s workers already exceeds the total for the 12 months of 2022 and 2023, approaching the balance for the entire year of 2024. Emaya has carried out 5,425 interventions related to graffiti removal in the first months of 2025, slightly below the previous year’s record of 5,820 but surpassing the figures for the two previous years: 5,198 in 2022 and 5,294 in 2023.

Month by month, the first half of this year saw 983 graffiti removed in January (359 in 2024, 296 in 2023, and 464 in 2022); 933 in February (348, 252, and 462); 1,039 in March (421, 266, and 434); 745 in April (400, 304, and 446); 722 in May (465, 624, and 471); and 1,003 in June (579, 609, and 200).

The focus of this regeneration activity in public and private spaces in the city is on urban furniture, with a total of 2,362 graffiti removed in the first six months of 2025, surpassing the numbers for 2024 (2,114), 2023 (1,972), and 2022 (2,180) for the same period from January to June.

Regarding interventions in public spaces like streets, squares, and avenues in Palma, Emaya has removed a total of 343 graffiti so far this year, improving on the results of previous years: 244 in 2024, 286 in 2023, and 208 in 2022.

The municipal government’s commitment to enhancing the city’s image is evident in the focus on public and private building facades, whether classified or unclassified. In the current year alone, interventions have been carried out on 2,720 facades, a significant increase compared to 336 in 2024, 156 in 2023, and 142 in 2022 for the entire year.
