Palma, February 11, 2025.
During this first contact, the General Coordinator of Culture and Tourism, Fernando Gómez de Costa, and the Director General of Music and Performing Arts, Rafel, were also present.
Born in the city of Valencian Aacor, José Enrique Martínez assumes his position with the approval of his long and prolific experience in the musical field.
The new director of the municipal band graduated in clarinet and orchestra specialties and choir management from the conservatories of Castelló and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.
Throughout his dense professional and artistic career, it is worth noting his role as a director at Europa Sol Maior, based in Brazil. He is also the architect of the implementation of «Tutivideocast,» the first member created worldwide in the field of bands.
Throughout his career, Martínez has taken on significant responsibilities such as directing the Professional Municipal Conservatory and the Municipal Music School «Santiago Gómez Rodrigo» in Mota del Cuervo (Cuenca) and, since 2006, the Motheña Music Association in the same city in Castilla la Mancha.
Among the many distinctions he has had the opportunity to collect, it is worth highlighting the Euteterpe award for the best record in the Valencian community, leading the Articular Music Society in Xuquer (Valencia), where he was the titular director from 2006 to 2010.
At the same time, between 2018 and 2013, he fulfilled the role of head of the symphonic band of the «La Harónica» Music Society, based in the city of Antoni (Valencia), in front of which he received, among other awards, the first prize in the provincial competition of Diputacia for Valencia.
In addition to all this activity, José Enrique Martínez Esteve has served as a director in numerous group and musical formations, including the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, the Haydn di Bozano and Trent Orchestra, the Rovereto Wind Orchestra, the Sun Maior Arts Orchestra from Brazil, the Harmonie-Ocestra ensemble, or the municipal bands of Palma, Badajoz, Bilbao, Los Palacios y Villafranca, and Pineda del Río, to which the Cuban national band must be added.
Martínez Esve, on the other hand, has developed an intense pedagogical activity as a clarinet teacher, ambient music, and musical informatics, focusing much of his work on the dissemination of music among young generations.
In this sense, he was the director of youth troops in Canales, Llanera de Ranes, and Xúquer Alcăntera, and organized and coordinated numerous initiatives for musical improvement, such as the «Brass and Wines» festival and «Aula Sanganxa» in Mota del Cuerervo.
From a creative point of view, he composed works for the band, the youth band, metal quintet, wind, clarinet quartet, choir, and piano.
