The Guardia Civil has detained a man, a 40-year-old British man, for allegedly attacking another person in the middle of the street in Cala Millor, breaking his ankle with a kick and applying a ‘sleeper hold’ to him.
The incident, as indicated by the Benemérita in a press release, took place on the morning of May 20 when the victim, a 22-year-old German man, was about to get on his motorcycle when another man approached him from behind.
Without saying a word, according to the agents’ account, he kicked him in the ankle, fracturing it. Then, after falling to the ground, he grabbed him by the neck and applied the ‘sleeper hold’ technique.
After struggling for a few minutes, the victim was able to break free from his attacker, who fled the scene on foot.
Later, the victim alerted the emergency services and agents from the Guardia Civil and the local police of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar immediately responded.
The agents, after gathering initial information about the alleged attacker, conducted searches in the area and shortly after, located the suspect. After being identified by the victim, he was arrested.
